What's New
December 2024
Reading mode
On blog posts, toggle it on and the sidebar disappears, the content narrows, and you get a cleaner view. Just you and the words.
Some posts are long. I wanted a way to let you settle in without everything else competing for attention.
AI-powered related posts
The related posts section now actually reads the content to find connections, not just matching tags.
Ideas connect in weird ways. This catches the ones I wouldn't have thought to link myself.
Command palette
Hit ⌘K and start typing. Jump to any post or section without scrolling.
If you've been here before and know what you're looking for, this gets you there faster.
Table of contents
Longer posts now have a sidebar that shows where you are and lets you jump between sections.
Some posts are long enough that you need a map.
Reading controls
Adjust font size or switch to a dyslexic-friendly font if that works better for you.
People read differently. The defaults should be good, but options are there if you need them.
Colour-coded blog cards
Each category now has its own colour so you can scan the blog listing faster.
Visual cues help when you're browsing.
This page
You're looking at it! A simple place to share what's changed.
Felt better than a blog post that reads like an announcement.
October 2024
Full site redesign
Rebuilt everything from scratch. New typography system, warm colour palette, and a structure that prioritises content over decoration.
This time I wanted something calm, editorial, and built to last.
Writing section
Blog listing and post pages. Reading progress indicator, syntax highlighting, series support for multi-part posts.
I wanted a proper home for long-form thinking, not just a list of posts.
Dark mode
Follows your system preference. Both modes are designed intentionally, not just inverted colours.
People read at different times of day. It should feel right either way.
